Managing User
Overview
This guide explains how to view, update, and delete users and manage their roles/permissions in the dashboard. Roles are expressed as permissions badges on each user card and control what that user can do across projects.
Updating User
Prerequisites
- You must be signed in to the dashboard and have permission to update other users.
- You cannot edit your own user entry's delete action (the UI prevents deleting the currently signed-in user).
Steps to Update
- Open
Dashboard>Usersand select theActive Userstab - Find the user you want to update in the list of user cards
- Click on the
Edit(pencil) icon on the user card to open theEdit User Permissionmodal - Modify the
Permissionselection and clickSubmitto save
Tip: The UI will always keep a
readlevel role for project visibility where appropriate, so a user retains basic access when you adjust roles.
Required Fields
- Fullname: Display name for the user (editable when permitted)
- Email Address: The user's email (disabled when editing in some contexts)
- Permission: One or more permissions (badges). At least a project read-level permission is maintained by the UI.

Filtering Options
The current UI displays all active users in the Active Users tab. Use your browser search to quickly locate users by name, email, or permission.
| Filter | Description |
|---|---|
| Name / Fullname | Find users by the displayed name (use browser find) |
| Locate users by email address | |
| Permission | Look for users with a specific permission badge |
Search Functionality
- There is no built-in search box on the user list. To find users quickly, open the
Active Userstab and use your browser's find (Ctrl/Cmd+F) to search for a name, email, or permission.
Deleting User
Steps to Delete
- In the
Active Userstab, locate the user card you want to remove - Click on the
Delete(trash) icon on the user's card - Confirm deletion in the prompt
Note: This action cannot be undone. Deleted users immediately lose access.
Best Practices
Do's
- Audit permissions regularly to maintain least-privilege access
- Use clear permission naming so roles are easy to understand
- Remove users who no longer need access promptly
Don'ts
- Don't keep stale or unused accounts active
- Don't grant broad permissions when a narrowly scoped permission will do
Troubleshooting
Issue: I accidentally removed the wrong user
Solution: Re-invite the user using Invite User and reassign the appropriate permissions and projects.
Issue: I cannot edit a user's email
Solution: The email field may be disabled in the edit form; delete and recreate the user or contact an administrator to perform the change if needed.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I edit my own permissions?
The UI displays (You) next to the currently signed-in user and typically prevents deleting your own account. Editing permissions for your own account is also restricted.
How do permission badges map to actions?
Permissions are shown as badges on each user card. They indicate the role(s) granted. Use the Edit modal to change them.
